What is a Product Tax Code (PTC)?
A Product Tax Code (PTC) is an Amazon-defined code used to apply the correct VAT rate to your products across the EU and UK, based on their category.
By default, Amazon assigns the PTC A_GEN_STANDARD
, which applies the standard VAT rate in all taxable jurisdictions.
Both VAT Calculation Services and VAT Services on Amazon use this code to calculate VAT on sales and refunds.
💡 Tip: Using the correct PTC ensures accurate VAT reporting and compliance across your Amazon marketplaces.
How AVASK Uses Your Product VAT Rates
AVASK pulls VAT rates directly from your Amazon VAT Transaction Reports (AVTR or VTR). These rates are set when the product listing is first uploaded to Amazon.
⚠️ Important: AVASK does not edit, validate, or remove VAT rates from your listings. Make sure the correct PTC is selected when setting up or editing products.
