If you have received a penalty from a Tax Office which you believe should not be applicable to your account, AVASK can apply to waive these fees (subject to provision of sufficient documentary evidence).
If the return and payment were filed in time, we can make an application to the Tax Office on your behalf.
Practical guidance:
- Review the Penalty Notice: Check the details of the penalty notice to understand why the penalty was issued.
- Gather Proof of Payment: Collect any proof of payment or relevant documents that support your case.
- Submit a Support Request: Raise a support request with your instructions. Include the penalty notice, proof of payment and any other supplementary evidence which confirms the position.
- Fee for Appeals: Be aware that there is a fee of €150.00 for handling appeals and contacting the Tax Office.
- Tax Office Contact: Once your request is submitted and payment is received, we will contact the Tax Office to apply for the penalty to be waived.
- Await Response: The Tax Office will review the application and decide whether to waive the penalty or enforce it. On confirmation, AVASK will advise on the outcome.
